Nobis named NH Engineer of Year … and more
Members of the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Coalition joined Gov. Chris Sununu on Feb. 8 as he signed Senate Bill 247 into law|!!| increasing safeguards aimed at better protecting New Hampshire children from lead poisoning. The bill|!!| which passed the House and Senate earlier this year|!!| mandates universal blood testing for 1- and 2-year-olds|!!| lowers the action level that triggers response by the state|!!| and would provide limited loan guarantees to landlords to pay for mitigation.

CATCH Neighborhood Housing has received the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Trowel Award, which recognizes businesses for outstanding renovations and rehabilitations in the 2017 calendar year. CATCH was honored for its turning the Franklin Light and Power Mill into now 45 units of workforce housing in downtown Franklin. Other 2017 Golden Trowel recipients included The Center Harbor Inn, Outdoor New England, Studio 73, and Kettlehead Brewery.


CPA Oreste “Rusty” Mosca, CPA, of the accounting firm of Nathan Wechsler & Company, has been re-elected treasurer of Associated Builders and Contractors of New Hampshire/Vermont.

Gilbert Oriol has been named Broker of the Year for 2017 by NH Business Sales in the Main Street sales category. Oriol, an Auburn resident, sold six businesses during the year, ranging from assisted living facilities to landscape maintenance firms located throughout the state. Four of the businesses were sold with related real estate.


Abhijit “Nannu” Nobis of Concord-based Nobis Engineering Inc., has been selected as 2018 New Hampshire Engineer of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Hampshire. He was selected based on his record of professional accomplishments, service to the profession and contributions to the community. He’ll be receiving the award at the 67th annual Engineer’s Week Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.


Adam Frey has joined RPF Environmental Inc. of Northwood as an environmental health and safety technician. Over the past year, he has obtained three licenses for asbestos consulting and testing, training for OSHA compliance, experience with a wide array of air sampling methods and certification for optical microscopy.


Dennis Mires, The Architects has announced completion of Calawa Court in Litchfield. The project has 42 units in seven six-unit buildings. Construction was completed and the property is managed by The Stabile Companies.
