Nobis wins national SBA honor, change in leadership at SFC Engineering … and more
The U.S. Small Business Administration has named Concord-based Nobis Engineering as its National 2014 8(a) Graduate Firm of the Year, recognizing Nobis for its business growth, success in the federal marketplace and commitment to its customers and community since its April 2004 graduation from the SBA 8(a) program.
The firm had earlier been named 2014 Massachusetts Small Business Administration 8(a) Graduate Firm of the Year.
Since graduating from the program over 1p years ago, Nobis' revenues have more than doubled and the firm has grown significantly to 100+ employees and six offices.
Both awards were presented by the SBA to Nobis' CEO, Abhijit "Nannu" Nobis, during National Small Business Week held in May.
Auburn-based SFC Engineering Partnership Inc. has named George Fredette as its new president. Fredette, who has been with SFC for over 20 years, succeeds Nicholas J. Cricenti Jr., who has served as president for the past 10 years.
SFC also announced that Deborah A. Fernandez has been elected executive vice president. She also is the company’s treasurer. And Jeffery M. Murphy has been named company secretary.
TFMoran Inc., Bedford, recently added two engineers to the company’s staff. Thomas Burns has joined the civil engineering division, serving as a project manager. Robert Vida has joined the structural division.
In addition, TFMoran recently promoted three engineers to senior level positions: Christopher Rice has been named senior project manager and Thomas Lamb and Joaquin Denoya have been promoted to senior structural engineer.
The Granite Hill Business Center at 1461 Hooksett Rd., Hooksett, a 29,391-square-foot, mixed-use retail and office professional property, has been sold to Kassas Real Estate Development Inc., for $971,000.
John A. Jackman of Jackman Commercial Real Estate facilitated the transaction for the buyer, and the Norwood Group represented the seller, GDC Inc.
Matt Manseau has joined the project management staff of Fulcrum Associates, Milford.
Nashua-based law firm Hamblett & Kerrigan has leased 7,206 square feet of space at 20 Trafalgar Square, The Glass Tower, in the Gate City.
The firm is moving from 146 Main Street in downtown Nashua where it had a long-term lease.
CBRE/New England’s Roger Dieker of the firm’s Manchester, office, represented the tenant. The landlord, TNK Associates, was represented by Jon Tamposi of Korsak Realty.
Brookstone Builders Inc., Manchester, was recently selected to perform a renovation project for American Alarm & Communications Inc. The work involves the total renovation of a newly acquired 7,200-square-foot building on Zachary Road in Manchester. Jack Boardman will serve as Brookstone’s project manager.
North Branch Construction Inc. of Concord has begun the renovation of the East Hall dormitory on the New England College campus in Henniker. The fast-track summer project will include major mechanical and electrical system upgrades as well as new finishes throughout. CMK Architects of Manchester is providing design for the project, which is scheduled for completion in August.
Denron Plumbing and HVAC LLC, Manchester, is working with Cutler Associates to completely replace the plumbing and HVAC systems at the 38,000-square-foot Webster Hall on the Phillips Exeter Academy campus in Exeter.
The fast-track project is scheduled for completion before the opening of school at the end of August.
Jewett Automotive Design & Construction has contracted with the AutoServ Dealer Group to build an infill addition and provide renovations to its Ford and Chrysler dealerships in Tilton. This is the fourth project Jewett has undertaken for AutoServ.
Malloy Interiors recently completed extensive interior renovations to the original Abenaqui Country Club building in Portsmouth as well as a 4,000-square-foot addition.
Laura Malloy said the new interior look creates an upscale, casual and comfortable feel.
