Kalwall ‘Daylighting’ course, Eckman’s awards … and more

Kalwall Corp., Manchester, has joined the U.S. Green Building Council as an education partner by designing and offering the course “Daylighting and LEED Credits,” which will earn building professionals one CE credit toward the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design continuing education program.
The course was designed by Mike Crowder, marketing manager for Kalwall and a LEED Accredited Professional, who said the course allows professionals to understand the way translucent fiberglass sandwich panels can assist in several areas of the LEED score sheet.
Meanwhile, Kalwall has added three people to fill key roles in the company: Tony Cerasuolo as Northeast regional sales manager; Tom Hon as Midwest regional sales manager; and Mark Lipman as Metro New York City salesman.
Bedford-based Eckman Construction won two Excellence in Construction Awards from the New Hampshire/Vermont Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. The firm was recognized with an Excellence Award for its work at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford. The firm also received a Merit Award for the new student center at Manchester Community College.
Better Homes & Gardens The Masiello Group has added Hudson native Anthony Piacenza to its Nashua office as a Realtor.
Loureiro Engineering Associates recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its New Hampshire office. The firm originally opened an office in Goffstown with one employee, and eventually moved to Manchester, where today there are 15 employees.
The Manchester office is the Plainville, Conn.-based company’s largest branch office.
Stewart Associates Architects, Gilford, has purchased $1,000 in tax credits to support the Laconia Area Community Land Trust, which last year was awarded $500,000 in tax credits by the Community Development Finance Authority. Once the credits are sold to business donors, LACLT can use the proceeds to continue upgrading 60 units of permanently affordable rental housing in Laconia.
