Grant gives boost to public housing in Portsmouth, Hancock Meetinghouse project, ConEst honored … and more
The Portsmouth Housing Authority has received a grant of more than $500,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to be used for a variety of projects, including upgraded security and software systems.
The MacMillin Company, Keene, has been awarded a construction management contract for renovations to the historic Hancock Meetinghouse in Hancock. The town of Hancock and the First Congregational Church jointly own the building.
Scheduled for completion in October, the project includes include structural stabilization, slate roof improvements, exterior painting with window repair, fire escape reinforcement, building accessibility (platform lift, interior ramp, and bathrooms), upgrading utilities and improvements to town hall space.
Architect is Monahon Architects of Peterborough.
Manchester-based ConEst Software Systems has announced that its IntelliBid product has been named to Construtech magazine’s list of the Top Products of 2014. For the seventh year, IntelliBid was named to the Trusted Products category. In addition, the magazine also selected ConEst’s SureCount for its third Top Product award.
North Branch Construction Inc. of Concord is building a new 5,750-square-foot, two-story, wood-framed duplex for St. Paul’s School in Concord. The duplex, which will provide housing for faculty members and their families, will include numerous environmentally friendly building practices, including air-source heat pumps, R-100 roof insulation, and 2” of continuous insulation outside the wall sheathing.
ICON Architecture of Boston is providing design for the project, to be completed this summer.
Mike Dion, president of Metro Walls, Manchester, has been named to the board of directors of the Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT chapter.
The law firm of Bernstein Shur has announced the expansion of its multi-state Property Tax and Valuation Team. The team is made of attorneys who have experience in local property taxation, including the methodologies and appraisal science that local assessors use to determine a property’s assessed value. New Hampshire team members include Roy W. Tilsley Jr. and Andru H. Volinsky, both of whom work out of the firm‘s Manchester office.
Kensington-based SyndicIT Services has announced that of its eWaste Recycling Service for multifamily owners and fee managers has been adopted by San Mateo, Calif.-based Prometheus Real Estate Group.
The recycling platform is provided through SyndicIT’s partnership with Hewlett-Packard Recycling Services, a program for disposal of used IT equipment that offers nationwide pickup, regulatory compliant disposal and industry-certified recycling services to apartment owners and operators.
Lake Sunapee Bank has announced the addition of Vincent P. Olivo of Gloucester, Mass., as a mortgage loan originator. He will be originating residential loans for the greater Seacoast region.
