Orr & Reno celebrates grand opening of offices in downtown Concord ‘green’ building

In the heart of the city’s emerging arts district

The law firm of Orr & Reno celebrated the grand opening of its new offices on Sept. 9 — in a new “green” building at 45 S. Main St. in Concord.

The firm, which employs more than 50 people, occupies the top two stories of the four-story structure. Concord developer Steve Duprey began construction in late summer 2012 to meet LEED certification standards for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.

“We’re excited about this move — and happy to be here,” said the firm’s president, Peter Burger. “As an organization, we’re committed to doing our part for environmental sustainability, and South Main Street is one of the most vibrant, rapidly changing neighborhoods in the capital.”

Often cited as an emerging arts district, the South Main neighborhood boasts a performing arts center, an independent nonprofit movie theater, a nationally recognized crafts league, a prominent furniture makers’ association, artists’ studios, restaurants, and more. In addition, the ground floor of the new building is the new home of the independent bookstore Gibson’s.
