Far be it from F&J to stir up trouble, but we’d love to have an answer to this question: To whom was Governor Benson referring when he told Kevin Landrigan of The Telegraph, while complaining about being held to a higher standard than others who have been governor:
“I’m not trying to say I have a persecution complex. You hear all the stories about everybody, what they have done or haven’t done. I know some governors used to pay their personal bills from the budget or use their administrative offices for personal use. If I did that, I would be shot.”
We assume he was talking about “some” New Hampshire governors. Care to fill us in?
