New Hampshire home transactions up 6.3 percent in January

RE/MAX report finds median price an depending sales up too

While year-over-year sales in January decreased by 3 percent across New England, home transactions were up by 6.3 percent in New Hampshire, according to The RE/MAX of New England January Monthly Housing Report.

RE/MAX reported that median price of those New Hampshire sales was up by 3.5 percent, and pending sales rose 6.9 percent from a year ago.

The Granite State picture differed sharply from most of the rest of New England.

In Massachusetts transactions fell by 6.1 percent and median price increased 3.2 percent. Pending sales were down 1.3 percent from January 2014.

Vermont home transactions were down 3.5 percent year-over-year, while median price decreased 5.8 percent and pending sales were up 15.9% year-over-year.

Maine saw a 5.9 percent increase in transactions, but median price fell 4.3 percent. Pending sales were up 18.2 percent.

Rhode Island home transactions increased 1.7 percent year-over-year, while median price increased 6.3 percent. Pending sales were up a 21.3 percent year-over-year.

In Connecticut, the number of total transactions fell 5.5 percent and median price was down 4.9 percent. Pending sales were up 16.6 percent year-over-year.
