New Hampshire home prices remain on the rise

5.8 percent year-over-year increase in October

Single-family home prices in New Hampshire rose 5.8 percent in October from a year earlier and 0.3 percent from September, according to the real estate data analytics firm CoreLogic.

The company, which also tracks sales in the Manchester-Nashua area, said home prices there increased by 5.8 percent in October 2016 compared with October 2015. But prices on a month-over-month basis decreased by 0.6 percent.

CoreLogic also says its Home Price Index indicates that home prices in New Hampshire will increase by 6.1 percent on a year-over-year basis over the next year. The CoreLogic forecast is a projection of home prices using various economic variables. Values are derived from state-level forecasts by weighting indices according to the number of owner-occupied households for each state.

Home prices nationwide increased year over year by 6.7 percent in October 2016 compared with October 2015 and increased month over month by 1.1 percent in October 2016 compared with September, according to CoreLogic.

CoreLogic predicts home prices will increase by 4.6 percent on a year-over-year basis from October 2016 to October 2017.
