New Hampshire awarded $8 million for infrastructure repair

Federal grants to help repair roads, facilities damaged by 2017 flooding

Nearly $8 million in federal grants have been awarded to help repair transportation infrastructure damaged by severe flooding around the state in 2017.

The awards, announced by the four members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation, will pay for repair of damage suffered in flooding last June, July and October.

Funding includes:

 • More than $990,000 to repair or reconstruct Federal Lands Management Agencies transportation facilities in Carroll, Coos, Grafton, and Sullivan counties following June 2017 flooding.

 • $2 million for the repair or reconstruction of highways and roads in Coos, Carroll, and Grafton counties following July 2017 flooding.

 • $750,000 to repair or reconstruct Federal Lands Management Agencies transportation facilities in Coos, Carroll, and Grafton following October 2017 flooding.

 • $4 million for the repair or reconstruction of highways and roads in Coos and Carroll counties following October 2017 flooding.

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said that the state “is still recovering from the flooding disasters of last year, and this funding is welcome relief,” a sentiment echoed by U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Reps. Annie Kuster and Carol Shea-Porter.
