REGION – President Bush has taken over the lead in the National Student/Parent Mock Election in New Hampshire.
Results reported Thursday by New Hampshire Public Television, which showed Democrat John Kerry leading by 99 votes, were not the final totals.
In fact, Bush now leads Kerry by 53 votes, as of Friday evening. Bush has 22,061 votes, to 22,008 for Kerry, and Ralph Nader trails with 2,655 votes.
Those results are from 141 schools, or 71 percent of the participating schools.
The program allows elementary, middle and high school students across the country to decide who they want their leaders to be. Many of the results from New Hampshire schools were reported Wednesday, but results from some schools are still trickling in.
