Middle School principal moving on
AMHERST – Amherst Middle School Principal Bill Hagen will be leaving that job at the end of the school year to become principal at his alma mater, Salem High School.
Hagen, 47, has been principal at Amherst Middle School for five years. A Hampstead resident, he graduated from Salem High in 1975.
His hiring was announced earlier this week by the Salem School Board, which said Hagen is the first graduate of the school to be named its principal.
Hagen will finish the school year in Amherst and take his new position July 1.
Salem High School has 2,300 students, which makes it about twice the size of Amherst Middle School.
