Mass. engineering firm acquires Salem’s MHF
Top 60 design firm Greenman Pedersen Inc. adds to national footprint

MHF Design Consultants Inc., a 24-person civil engineering and surveying firm based in Salem, NH, has been acquired by the Wilmington, Mass.-based national multidisciplinary engineering firm Greenman-Pedersen Inc.
Under the deal – the price of which was not disclosed – MHF principal engineers Frank C. Monteiro and Mark Gross will join GPI’s senior management team. Gross will become GPI New England’s director of land development-permitting and Monteiro will be director of land development-engineering. In addition, Heather Monticup, GPI New England’s current director of land development will become director of land development-traffic.
Gross said that despite the change in ownership, “very little will change on a day-to-day basis.”
He added, “I have every confidence that this transition into the GPI family will be successful and will allow us to grow both individually and as a company and continue to provide excellence in civil engineering surveying and land development services.”
GPI, which is ranked in Engineering News Record as one of the Top 60 design firms, has a staff of over 1,500 professionals, handling projects for both public and private sector clients varying in size and complexity. MHF’s market has encompassed all of New England.
