Joseph Cherniske

Attorney Joseph A. Cherniske, who has over a decade of experience as a prosecutor, has joined Shaheen & Gordon’s Criminal Law Group, working out of the firm’s Concord office.

Cherniske will represent clients charged with serious misdemeanor and felony crimes, including homicides, physical and sexual assaults, thefts, drug offenses, DWI/DUI, and other driving offenses. Cherniske previously worked in the Criminal Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, where he was assigned as a lead prosecutor on the Joint Youth Development Center Task Force and the homicide unit, responsible for the investigation and prosecution of hundreds of complex felony sexual and physical assault allegations stemming from the state’s Youth Development Center. As a member of the homicide unit, he assisted in homicide investigations and prosecutions statewide.

Cherniske started his career with the Merrimack County Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted over 60 jury trials and handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases.

LaCoste new trust officer at McLane

Kim LaCoste

McLane Middleton has announced the hiring of Kim E. LaCoste as a trust officer in the firm’s Trust Services Department. She previously worked as vice president and trust officer at NHTrust for five years for 13 years was vice president and wealth advisor at Charter Trust Company. She will work with clients and beneficiaries, their fiduciaries, and financial advisors to coordinate and facilitate asset transfers, distributions, review tax documents, prepare reporting and other trust related services.

FRM fraud compensation deadline approaching

The application deadline for victims of the $20 million Financial Resources Mortgage Inc. Ponzi scheme to file applications seeking compensation from the FRM Victims’ Contribution Recovery Fund is May 18, the Attorney General’s Office announced.

Letters have been sent to all known potential victims at their last known address.

Victims who seek compensation from the FRM Fund must complete and return an application to the administrator. The application may be found on the FRM page of the Department of Justice website.

Applicants may choose to submit an application either by printing, filling out and mailing the paper version or by completing and sending online the electronic version.
