Lahey, St. Joseph expand affiliation

Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health and St. Joseph Healthcare of Nashua have announced an agreement to expand their existing collaboration.

The new agreement will expand Lahey and St. Joseph's relationship through clinical service line development, allowing physicians from the 208-bed St. Joseph Hospital and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center to work together to provide comprehensive, integrated care.

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center will serve as St. Joseph's preferred medical center for patients who need specialty or subspecialty services that cannot be provided locally.

The hospitals also will share resources for clinical leadership, education and program development for service lines such as cancer treatment, the organizations said.

Richard Boehler, CEO of St. Joseph, said the expanded affiliation between St. Joseph Healthcare and Lahey Health “is a testament to the long-standing successful collaboration our two organizations have enjoyed for many years. Both organizations have similar visions for the future of health care, and we are committed to an integrated approach that will ensure quality, lower costs and improve the experience for all our patients.”
