Hoyle Tanner executive named New Hampshire’s 2023 Engineer of the Year
Sean James to be honored at Feb. 23 banquet
Sean T. James, who specializes in bridge engineering, has been named the 2023 New Hampshire Engineer of the Year by the NH Society of Professional Engineers.
The award will be presented Thursday, Feb. 23, at the annual Engineers Week banquet at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.
James, senior vice president and division manager of Manchester-based Hoyle Tanner’s Ground Transportation Group, was nominated by the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire, which cited his record of accomplishments and contributions to the engineering profession and his numerous volunteering efforts to his community.
In his role at Hoyle Tanner, Brown oversees bridge and roadway engineering projects and associated permitting for a diverse group of clients, including state agencies, municipalities and private clients. He leads a team of 36 professionals, including structural and transportation engineers, designers and permitting specialists. He maintains professional licensure in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania.
A Candia resident, James spent 11 years as a member of the town’s planning board and also served as chair of the town’s master plan steering committee, which delivered the produced the current 2017-27 plan.
