Forum to probe intellectual property questions

Tech Council, McLane Middleton join for Feb. 7 event

The NH High Tech Council, in partnership with McLane Middleton, will present its Intellectual Property Forum from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Long Term Care Partners, 100 Arboretum Drive, Newington.

The event is free of charge and open to any startup, mid-sized company or business with an interest in intellectual property, protecting a competitive advantage or learning what steps to take should property rights be infringed upon.

The program will also address the difference between patents, trademarks and copyrights.

“Businesses in the tech sector face a unique set of challenges when it comes to their intellectual property rights,” said Matt Cookson, executive director of the Tech Council. He added that the forum will help participants “better understand how to protect themselves and receive legal tips and solution-based advice right from the experts.”

The forum is presented by attorneys from McLane Middleton's Intellectual Property Practice Group – Mark Wright, Dennis Haley, Jeremy Walker, Scott Rand, Nick Casolaro and Catherine Yao.

The program will begin with a half-hour of registration and networking followed by the one-hour presentation.
