FairPoint names McHugh president

Patrick C. McHugh, FairPoint Communications’ assistant general counsel in northern New England, has been named the company’s New Hampshire state president.He succeeds Teresa Rosenberger, who stepped down from the post last month to return to her work at the Devine Millimet law firm after nearly two years on the job.McHugh was serving as interim president following Rosenberger’s decision to leave.In his new role, McHugh he will be responsible for regulatory matters, governmental relations and legislative affairs, public relations and economic development for FairPoint in New Hampshire.McHugh, who joined FairPoint in August 2010, had previously worked with Rosenberger as an attorney at Devine Millimet, where he was a member of its Telecommunications Practice Group. Peter Nixon, president of Charlotte, N.C.-based FairPoint, said McHugh “has extensive knowledge of state government and the regulatory environment in New Hampshire.
