Driver hurt in I-93 crash

WINDHAM – A motorist was thrown from a Chevrolet Tahoe that rolled on Interstate 93 after swerving to avoid another vehicle Sunday afternoon, state police reported.

The driver, whom police did not identify, was brought by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center in Derry and then flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Police said the person remained in critical condition later that night.

The accident took place in the northbound lanes of the highway, near the weigh scales, about 4:15 p.m. Police are still investigating it.
