Cybersecurity compliance workshop slated for Dec. 20

Event is for manufacturers that contract or subcontract with DOD

New Hampshire manufacturers who are contractors or subcontractors to the U.S. Department of Defense are encouraged to partake in an upcoming workshop sponsored by New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership, New Hampshire's Division of Economic Development and Mainstay Technologies. 

Taking place at the Best Western in Manchester on Dec. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, the workshop will cover how manufacturers can enact cybersecurity protocols and document them to satisfy new requirements that went into effect late last year. 

In the workshop, attendees will review the requirements and discuss strategies for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and complying with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clause 252.204.7012 and NIST Special Publication 800-171. 

The workshop will break down cybersecurity standards as described in NIST Special Publication 800-171 into 14 areas including access control, media protection, awareness and training, and systems and information integrity. It will also cover the compliance gap analysis process, implementing new information technology and security lawyers, development of policies and procedures, and continuous monitoring, compliance and risk assessments related to the Information Security Program.

A similar workshop was held last year. Senior managers, IT professionals and other managers across the manufacturing organization are encouraged to attend.
