Cigna, Kmart team up on Medicare drug plan

Health insurer Cigna has announced a partnership with retailer Kmart to offer Medicare prescription drug plans.
Philadelphia-based Cigna Corp. will offer three Medicare Part D plans including a no-deductible plan and a generic drug plan. Plan participants will be able to obtain their prescriptions at any of the more than 1,100 Kmart pharmacies across the country, including 10 Kmart stores in New Hampshire.
The co-branded product, Cignature Rx, allows beneficiaries of Cigna’s Medicare Part D to have their prescriptions filled at Kmart. The companies will also provide co-branded information and educational materials.
Wellpoint, the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire, announced a similar partnership with Walgreens drugstores earlier this month.
Humana Inc., headquartered in Louisville, Ken., has a marketing agreement with Wal-Mart for its senior drug plan.
The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
