Bank’s president says jobs secure
MANCHESTER (AP) – The president of Bank of New Hampshire says jobs will be secure as the bank’s parent company is sold to a Canadian bank.
Banknorth Group is selling a controlling interest to TD Bank Financial Group of Toronto.
Bank of New Hampshire President Scott Bacon said the bank’s name eventually will change to TD Banknorth, but the new owner plans no layoffs and no changes in management and says Banknorth will continue to operate on its own.
Bank of New Hampshire has 69 branches in the state, with 86 ATMs and more than 1,100 employees.
