Accident remains under investigation

MERRIMACK – Merrimack police say a medical problem appears to have contributed to a two-car wreck that sent three town residents injured to the hospital around midday Sunday.

Stephanie Roy, 35, and her mother, Lorraine Roy, 68, both of 4 Mockingbird Lane, were traveling west on Bedford Road around 1:20 p.m. in a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Stephanie Roy when they collided head-on with a 2000 Daewoo Nubira driven by Robert Siebert, 30, of 14 Brookfield Drive, police said.

All three had to be extricated from the vehicles and were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua with what police termed non life threatening injuries.

Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated Siebert crossed the yellow line into the westbound lane, police said, adding that a medical problem appeared to have been involved. Police said no evidence of excessive speed or alcohol had been found, and that the investigation is ongoing.
