AMHERST – A coffeehouse fund-raiser for the Peabody Mill Environmental Center will be held in the Souhegan High School cafeteria on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Trio Eddie Mottau, Bob Drew and Jimmy Clark will sing blues, ragtime, and folk tunes. Mottau has played with Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary fame as well as John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
The group has appeared on public television and played the New Hampshire music scene for more than 30 years. The trio’s recently released CD will be available for sale at the concert.
Tickets are available for $10 at Moulton’s Market on the Amherst Village Green, Souhegan Cycleworks on the Milford Oval, the Toadstool Bookshop in Milford, Putnam’s Clothing on Wilton’s Main Street and the Peabody Mill Environmental Center in Amherst.
Any remaining tickets will be for sale at the door.

Another piece of Chinese owned property in Nashua has come to the public’s attention — the former Daniel Webster College property, encompassing some 52 acres. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess encouraged the Board of Aldermen on Sept. 9 to pass a resolution giving him the authority to seek state and/or federal funds to purchase the property, currently owned by Xinhua Education Consulting Services Corp.
James “Jim” Loomis, co-founder of Portsmouth-based Bottomline Technologies, passed away on Sept. 6 in his hometown of Dover after a period of declining health. He was 75. After its creation in 1989 with business partner Daniel McGurl, Bottomline became a worldwide leader in automated business payments and cash management.
