Annual club dinner on tap

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua is hosting its fifth annual Steak and Burger Dinner on April 21 at the club at 47 Grand Ave.

The event, which will start at 6 p.m., gives civic and community leaders a chance to interact with some of the nearly 10,000 boys and girls served by the club’s programs.

Tickets for the dinner are $50, which includes your meal and the meal of a club member.

Triangle Credit Union is the platinum sponsor of the event this year. Gold sponsors are Comcast and DTC Communications; silver sponsors are Bill Sweat and Donna Morris, Granite State Credit Union and Pennichuck Water Works; bronze sponsors are the Nashua Police Patrolman’s Association, Tamposi-Nash Realty and Continental Paving.

The club also has a Discovery Hour the second Tuesday of every month.

Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess encouraged the Board of Aldermen on Sept. 9 to pass a resolution giving him the authority to seek state and/or federal funds to purchase the property, currently owned by Xinhua Education Consulting Services Corp.

Jim Loomis, Bottomline Technologies co-founder, dies at 75

James “Jim” Loomis, co-founder of Portsmouth-based Bottomline Technologies, passed away on Sept. 6 in his hometown of Dover after a period of declining health. He was 75. After its creation in 1989 with business partner Daniel McGurl, Bottomline became a worldwide leader in automated business payments and cash management.
