Saint Anselm unveils new student services center
$6 million gift fuels construction of 53k-square-foot complex
Saint Anselm College unveiled the product of the largest single donation in the school’s history on May 5: the Roger and Francine Jean Center, which was funded in large part by a $6 million gift to the school.
Manchester residents Roger Jean, a 1970 graduate of the school and a college trustee, and his wife Francine Jean made the contribution. The result was a 53,280-square-foot complex that houses over a dozen student services in one facility, including the campus ministry, a 250-seat auditorium, a café and a glass-walled second-floor flexible function room. There are also lounge areas for the school's 2,000 students.
The new center sits on the site of the former Cushing Student Center, but the new building has a 30 percent larger footprint.
The complex was built by Eckman Construction of Bedford. Architect was BHDP Architecture of Cincinnati, Ohio. Landscape was architecture by Derck & Edson of Lititz, Pa. Overseeing construction for Saint Anselm was Bill Furlong, associate vice president of facilities.
