Business and event happenings around the state of NH

1. The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce held its Health & Wellness Expo recently. More than 200 attendees explored exhibitors that offered demonstrations, insights and hands-on experience across the spheres of fitness, nutrition, skin care and mental health, according to a press release. The Chamber thanks the exhibitors as well as Platinum Sponsor Spindel Eye Associates, P.C., for their support.

2. The Rotary Club of Hampton named The Brook’s CEO, Andre Carrier, as a Paul Harris Fellow — the club’s highest honor. In a ceremony on April 28, NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives President and Chair John B. Nyhan gave the presentation. In April, The Brook announced that in 2025, it donated $12.6 million to charities, according to a press release. Since 2019, the total amount The Brook has donated to local groups has approached $50 million, according to Gary Trask with Eureka Casinos.

3. Comfort Zone Camp, a nonprofit children’s bereavement camp, is expanding its New England-based programs by launching a new children’s camp from Aug. 14-16 at Camp Tevya in Brookline. Comfort Zone Camp has served more than 26,000 bereaved children in the U.S. ages 7-17. Register or volunteer at comfortzonecamp.org.

4. The Better Business Bureau in New Hampshire (BBB NH) has named three companies for its 2026 Torch Awards for Ethics on May 14 at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford. The companies are: Hooksett Motors, which offers free car-care classes and other discounted services; Great North Woods Container Services, which encourages drivers to help residents move their heavy items to the curb; and GSMS Air-Heating-Plumbing, which donated $6,000 to local nonprofits in 2025.

5. In April, the Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce celebrated EPTAC’s grand opening with a ribbon-cutting at 7 Stiles Road, Suite 300, Salem. Local professionals, including community members and partners, enjoyed food and networked while looking at EPTAC’s new space. EPTAC is an internationally recognized leader in solder and electronics trainings as well as in IPC certification.

6. Meredith Village Savings Bank supports the playground improvement project at Meeting Place Apartments in Exeter. The project will upgrade the surface area, replace outdated equipment and add an ADA-accessible picnic table. MVSB also hosts financial education workshops for Avesta residents in Exeter and Hampton Falls. Avesta Housing is the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in northern New England, serving more than 4,700 residents. 7. On April 22, Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., donated $10,000 to Krempels Brain Injury Center after a campaign that offered a $50 donation per share and a one-to-one donation match by Shaheen & Gordon CEO and Managing Partner D. Michael Noonan. Noonan, right, presents a check for $10,000 to Krempels Brain Injury Center Executive Director Cariann Harsh Daley. Funds from the donation will help purchase a van for more accessible travel for people with traumatic brain injury.
