Farm celebrating new barn, trail

WILTON – A celebration will be held at Four Corners Farm from 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

The public is invited to tour the dairy barn, vegetable fields, and orchards, and see the first stages of construction of our new hay barn.

The Conservation Commission will cut a ribbon opening the new trail on the property and present certificates to all those who helped with the project.

The Temple-Wilton Community Farm, one of the oldest community supported agriculture farms in the United States, is celebrating the completion of the purchase of the conservation easement and long-term lease of Four Corners Farm, and a 43-acre orchard on Abbott Hill.

The project was funded by the Land and Community Heritage Investment Program, Farmland Protection Program, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Water Supply Protection Program, town of Wilton, Wilton-Lyndeborough Winter Wanderers, and many private donations.

The Temple-Wilton Community Farm serves more than 100 families and provides food to High Mowing School, also located on Abbot Hill.
