14 businesses to vie in Sustainability Slam

Third annual event showcases successful initiatives

NH Businesses for Social Responsibility will present its third annual Sustainability Slam on Thursday, Nov. 2, at LaBelle Winery in Amherst.

The evening involves businesses telling the stories about their sustainability efforts in fast-paced presentations.

The Sustainability Slam is part of NHBSR’s Just One Thing campaign designed to recognize businesses and organizations for their environmental, community and workplace initiatives, while encouraging more businesses to get involved.

Fourteen finalists have been selected by an independent judging panel, and will present their stories live in front of the audience, who will select the winning stories by using a polling app on their phone. Awards are presented in four categories – community, environment, workplace and nonprofit, with small and large companies judged separately.

The finalists are:

 • Community, Cirtronics, Hanover Food Co-op, Digital Prospectors, Jewett Construction Company

 • Environment: Coca-Cola Northern New England, Monadnock Paper Mills, PAX World, Throwback Brewery

 • Workplace: WS Badger, Stonyfield, 7th Settlement Brewery, NEMO Equipment
