120-unit residential project proposed in Portsmouth

Apartments, townhouses seen at rail yard

Developers have unveiled preliminary plans for a 120-unit housing development on a 10-acre site near North Mill Pond in Portsmouth.

According to the Portsmouth Herald, Doug Pinciaro and Ed Hayes of Clipper Traders LLC appeared before the Portsmouth Planning Board, seeking to have the rail yard site rezoned for the development.

The project’s plans call for a multi-level residential apartment building with rental units and several townhouse-style buildings, which would be condominiums.

The property is currently owned by the Boston and Maine Railroad, but developers said they have an agreement with to buy the property.

The board voted to continue the hearing at its April 21 meeting.
