Entrepreneurship Internship Program teams seniors, companies

The Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at UNH is seeking businesses to participate in its Entrepreneurship Internship Program, which teams up graduating seniors studying entrepreneurship with entrepreneurial ventures in various stages of business development and firms that service the entrepreneurial sector.

The students have an interest in gaining experience in a variety of areas, including marketing, sales, finance, management and new product development.

Students work eight to 10 hours a week for the fall semester as part of their class requirements, which also include completion of a group consulting project, development of a startup concept and participation in class lectures that feature guest speakers on such topics as entrepreneurship, the New Hampshire economy and the private equity and venture capital markets.

Companies within a one-hour commute from UNH’s Durham campus are preferred, officials said.

The internships are unpaid, but companies do pay a small fee to participate.

The fall 2016 program begins Aug. 29. Companies interested in participating should contact Laura Hill, program coordinator, at 603-862-3341 or laura.hill@unh.edu.
