Six New Hampshire businesses file for bankruptcy in November

Total of 145 NH bankruptcies down slightly from 2015

The number of New Hampshire bankruptcy filings in November remained relatively stable.

Some 145 New Hampshire individuals and businesses were filed in November, seven more than the previous month and two fewer than November 2015, meaning that November 2016 had the lowest number of filings since 1989, except for 2005, during the rush before federal bankruptcy law changed to it harder to file.

Overall, there have been 9 percent fewer bankruptcy filings in New Hampshire in 2016.

Six businesses filed for bankruptcy in October, three fewer than October. They were:

 • Agave Illinois Holdings LLC, Manchester, filed Nov. 4, Chapter 7. Assets: $430. Liabilities: $600,000.

 • Suburban Gyms of America Inc., Manchester, filed Nov. 4, Chapter 7. Assets $352. Liabilities: $600,000

 • BUP'S Restaurant and Catering LLC, Temple, filed Nov. 16, Chapter 7. Assets: $165,656. Liabilities: $294,947.

 • Walter H. Booth Clause 4 Trust, Concord, filed Nov. 16, Chapter 11. Assets and Liabilities: $1 to $10 million.

 • Environmental Compliance Specialists Inc., Kingston, filed Nov. 29, Chapter 7. Assets: $397,635. Liabilities: $2,737,113.

 • R&S Realty Trust, East Hampstead, filed Nov. 29, Chapter 7. Assets and Liabilities: $1 to $10 million.
