NASHUA, N.H. (AP) – Phone service was out in Nashua and parts of some neighboring communities for several hours on Wednesday morning, affecting about 50,000 phone lines, a spokeswoman for Verizon said.
The problem began between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., spokeswoman Jill Wurm said. Phone service was restored by 9 a.m., she said. The problem seems to have originated at Verizon’s own power plant, she said.
Wurm said service was out in Nashua and parts of Hudson and Pelham.
Merrimack Police said phones in their town were affected, too.
