CATCH gets $400k funding, American Alarm moves to Queen City … and more
New Hampshire Housing recently approved over $400,000 in federal HOME funding for CATCH Neighborhood Housing to construct an additional phase of its Bow Highlands affordable housing development. The new construction will add 16 additional units of family housing to the development’s existing 20 units.
The newest phase of Bow Highlands also will leverage private investment for affordable housing construction through the sale of federal Housing Tax Credits.
American Alarm, a home and business security system company headquartered in Arlington, Mass., has bought five contiguous condos at 70 Zachery Rd. in Manchester from Prom Real Estate of Williston, Vt. for $518,000. American Alarm is relocating its Windham office to Manchester. Deanna Caron of Stebbins Commercial Properties Inc. represented the buyer in the transaction, and NAI Norwood represented the seller.
Baltimore, Md.-based Prometric, an educational test development and delivery provider for academic, financial, health care, IT and corporate and professional organizations, has signed a five-year lease for 1,537 square feet of space at Concord Crossing on Whitney Road in Concord.
Chris Healey, associate broker with CBRE/New England, and Zubin David of Cassidy Turley of Baltimore arranged the lease on behalf of Prometric.
Martha Baroody has joined the commercial real estate brokerage team at CBRE/New England’s Portsmouth office. Gary Chicoine Construction Corp. of Weare has purchased $30,000 in tax credits from the Laconia Area Community Land Trust in support of the organization’s efforts to continue upgrading 60 units of affordable rental housing in Laconia.
The trust’s executive director, Linda Harvey, said “Chicoine has built our largest new construction projects. We are very happy to have them support this rehab project through the purchase of tax credits.”
LACLT has been selling state tax credits after being awarded $500,000 by the Community Development Finance Authority.
The Tax Credit Program enables businesses to donate to LACLT in exchange for a state tax credit that can be applied against the New Hampshire business profits, business enterprise or insurance premium taxes.
