Pancake, waffle mix recalled

TEWKSBURY, MASS. – Demoulas Supermarkets has recalled a store-brand pancake and waffle mix because it has egg not listed in the ingredients.

The company said it had pulled its 32-ounce boxes of Demoulas & Market Basket Complete Pancake & Waffle Mix. The Universal Product Code is 0-49705-14852.

In a release dated March 26 and posted on the Web site of the Food and Drug Administration, Demoulas said it was notified that one person had a mild adverse reaction after eating the product. Those allergic to eggs run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the mix.

Demoulas said the product was distributed to stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Consumers can return the mix to a Demoulas or Market Basket store for refunds.
