LDI Solutions project wins Rochester planners’ approval

Hospital-grade wall coverings maker will move from Portsmouth

The Rochester Planning Board has approved site plans for Portsmouth-based LDI Solutions’ new 24,000-square-foot facility in the Granite State Business Park off Route 108.

LDI Solutions is making the move to Rochester with the help of financial assistance from the city, Foster’s Daily Democrat reported.

According to the newspaper, the city’s Economic Development Commission will borrow $3 million from the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority on LDI’s behalf and lend it to LDI to construct the new facility. LDI will begin repaying the $3 million note, which carries a 4.75% interest rate, once the facility is completed within about a year.

LDI employs 28 people and produces eco-friendly, hospital-grade wall coverings and upholstery for customers in the U.S. and internationally. Customers include major hospitals, the United Nations, Google and universities like Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all of which are moving away from toxic leather and vinyl materials, LDI CEO Lou LaMarca told Foster’s.
