Housing continues to be a priority issue for senior citizens. The Greater Nashua Area Committee on Aging has planned a forum on senior housing options to be held at the Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple St., on Wednesday, April 28, from 1:30-3:30pm. Guest speakers will include Vera Ippolito, housing coordinator at Parkhurst Place in Milford; Kathy Burns, reverse mortgage specialist from Wells Fargo Bank; and Jan Silva from the Mount Vernon Inn.
Information on affordable housing, assisted living, adult communities, subsidized housing and reverse mortgages will be provided. Representatives from various public housing and assisted living facilities in the area have been invited to be available with brochures, applications and other information, including availability.

Another piece of Chinese owned property in Nashua has come to the public’s attention — the former Daniel Webster College property, encompassing some 52 acres. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess encouraged the Board of Aldermen on Sept. 9 to pass a resolution giving him the authority to seek state and/or federal funds to purchase the property, currently owned by Xinhua Education Consulting Services Corp.
James “Jim” Loomis, co-founder of Portsmouth-based Bottomline Technologies, passed away on Sept. 6 in his hometown of Dover after a period of declining health. He was 75. After its creation in 1989 with business partner Daniel McGurl, Bottomline became a worldwide leader in automated business payments and cash management.
