MASON- The Planning Board will hold a public hearing Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Town Office to review several proposed amendments to the town’s zoning ordinances.
The hearing will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The board’s first amendment would replace the existing definition of wetlands with wording that exists in state law. Some of the other changes would require that wetlands be delineated on a site-specific basis by a certified soil or wetland scientist, and allow the Planning Board to hire its own soil or wetlands scientist if there is a disagreement with an applicant’s scientist.
The board’s second amendment would create a new article to establish general guidelines for the placement of telecommunications towers and antennas while reducing adverse effects on the environment and preserving scenic views.
An amendment proposed by citizen petition would change an existing ordinance dealing with frontage and lot size for homes in town.
A full copy of the proposed changes is available at the Town Office.
