Fire damages city home

NASHUA – Nashua Fire Rescue responded to a basement fire at a home on East Dunstable Road on Saturday afternoon. Fire officials said the blaze at 15 E. Dunstable Road, a home owned by Thomas and Colleen Nauss, was possibly caused by a malfunction of the clothes dryer.

Firefighters received the call around 1 p.m. Saturday. Fire officials said that the home suffered heavy fire damage to the basement, and heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the home.

Jim Loomis, Bottomline Technologies co-founder, dies at 75

James “Jim” Loomis, co-founder of Portsmouth-based Bottomline Technologies, passed away on Sept. 6 in his hometown of Dover after a period of declining health. He was 75. After its creation in 1989 with business partner Daniel McGurl, Bottomline became a worldwide leader in automated business payments and cash management.
