Personal bankruptcies fall, but more N.H. businesses file

The number of personal bankruptcies filed in New Hampshire continued to plummet in April, but the number of business bankruptcies crept up a bit.There were 383 bankruptcies in all, nearly 20 percent fewer than the 475 in April 2011 and almost 8 percent fewer than the 415 filed in March.It was the 16th straight year-over-year monthly decrease and the fewest filed in April since 2008.However, six unrelated businesses filed for bankruptcy in April compared to five in March and two in February. They are:• Daily Press Cleaners LLC, Manchester, filed April 3, Chapter 7. Assets: $3,100. Liabilities: $106,777.• 428 Main Street Marketing LLC, Troy, filed April 9, Chapter 7. Assets: $108. Liabilities: $242,957.• P & P Sporting Goods Inc., dba Everett Sports Center, Concord, filed April 9, Chapter 7. Assets: $242,975. Liabilities: $1,771,585. In addition, ESC Investments LLC, which is the property where Everett Sports Center is located, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy as well. Assets: $760,336. Liabilities: $1,137,339.• JBCW + 8 LLC (convenience store), Merrimack, filed April 25, Chapter 7. Assets: $60,087. Liabilities: $85,040.• Up Country Saloon Inc. and W and K Derouin Associates LLC, dba Up Country Family Restaurant and Tavern, North Conway, filed April 25, Chapter 7. Assets: $408,210.
