1. Eastern Bank Foundation announced its 2026 Community Advocacy Award recipients. Eleven New England organizations are being recognized for advancing civic education. Honorees include New Hampshire Campaign for Voting Rights and its director Lisa Kovack, and Massachusetts Voter Table and its executive director Shanique Rodriguez. 2. Mr. Mac’s Macaroni and Cheese announced a donation of $4,500 to support the unhoused through its second annual “Mac Gives Back” fundraiser for veterans in May. Mr. Mac’s donated $2 for every “Classic All-American Man” bought that month. The Mr. Mac’s team presented the check to Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais and Henry Och, the CEO of Harbor Care, a nonprofit based in New Hampshire. The funds will help New Hampshire veterans facing housing challenges who may also need rental application fee assistance, security deposits and support during emergency housing.
3. The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Lowell Five Bank’s new lending office at 130 Main St. in Salem. The grand opening marks Lowell Five Bank’s expanding presence in southern New Hampshire. Besides a tour of the new facility, guests networked and sampled food from Black Water Grill and Farmhouse Roasters, and saw floral arrangements provided by Ford Flower Co.
4. Serve with Liberty, which began in 2012, is a global initiative that brings employees together to make an impact in their communities through several projects. Volunteers helped prepare the Strawbery Banke Museum’s open-air campus by taking part in landscaping and beautification projects. Employees helped Great Bay Kids Company with its “Spring Refresh,” by revitalizing outdoor spaces, helping with garden projects and preparing childrens’ materials. Volunteers at the nonprofit Safe Haven Ballet helped the organization get ready for its “80 Bash” fundraiser by building shelving, event decorations and more.
5. Monadnock Paper Mills is marking the company’s 207 years of papermaking as the U.S. celebrates its 250th birthday by reflecting on its role as a continuously operating paper mill in the United States that is evolving alongside its customers. Monadnock Paper Mills produces a portfolio of fine printing, packaging and technical papers used by brands, retailers, designers, printers and manufacturers. Retail signage, gift cards, premium and print packaging, and specialized technical uses are among the products created.
6. The Concord Hospital Trust (CHT) Scholarship Sub-Committee has awarded $69,500 in scholarship funds to 25 students in nursing and allied health chosen from more than 80 applicants. The recipients are: Brenda Band, Danay Cluche, Stephanie Dodson, Emily Fauteux, Olivia Foreman, Haley Gagnon, Michelle Goff, Jennifer Harris, Camryn Howe, Samantha Johnson, Arianne Kraft-Lund, Amy Ladds-Davis, Meghan Lahti, Emelie Lundeen, Kaiya Mercier, Lundi Moyo, Allison Parry, Broc Pelchat, Brenda Rogers, Lindsey Sanderson, Jacque Santilli, Julia Secor, Taiylor Stinson, Sarah Stone, and Avery VonKadich.
