Business and event happenings around the state of NH
1. Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the grand opening of AV Wine Bar in Salem. During the ribbon-cutting at 16 Artisan Drive, Suite 1120, guests enjoyed wine, tapas and conversation. The chamber celebrates local entrepreneurs and promotes a thriving business community.
2. On Feb. 14, Catholic Charities New Hampshire celebrated 80 years of service by raising $300,000 at its inaugural Sweetheart Ball at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester. All proceeds benefited Catholic Charities NH programs, which serve about 1-in-10 residents across the state. The ball was made possible through support from the community and sponsors, including presenting sponsor CGI Business Solutions. The event replaced the organization’s traditional Mardi Gras celebration in honor of its 80th anniversary year. Mardi Gras will return to Manchester on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027.
3. Northeast Delta Dental has funded a scholarship program to help NHTI-Concord’s Community College’s dental hygiene students afford vital educational supplies and fees. The $250,000 grant is administered through The Foundation for NH Community Colleges, the charitable entity that supports students at that college. Northeast Delta Dental provided $100,000 of the gift in late spring, benefitting 23 students. The balance will assist third-year students with licensure fees this spring.
4. The Red Arrow Diner in Manchester recently donated $5,000 to support Bonfire Country Bar staff after a burst pipe damaged the establishment. Red Arrow Diner organized a fundraiser, held just five days later, pledging to donate a portion of sales to the Bonfire restaurant staff. All four Red Arrow Diner locations provided support. 5. Badger Peabody & Smith Realty President and Chief Marketing Officer Chrissy Smith presents a check for $4,431.26 to AHEAD Executive Director Harrison Kanzler. 6. Eversource recently donated two vehicles, an SUV Traverse and a Ford F250, to support and enhance the services of the Granite YMCA’s camping programs. The presentation took place at Energy Park. CEO of The Granite YMCA Michele Sheppard says this type of donation is immensely needed by their camps, adding that the YMCA is grateful for both vehicles and Eversource’s longstanding support of the Y’s mission.
7. Meredith Village Savings Bank announced its support of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund with the purchase of $10,000 in tax credits from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority. The Community Loan Fund will use these funds to help low- to moderate-income families purchase new and affordable energy-efficient manufactured homes.
