WMUR-TV, in partnership with the state of New Hampshire, will be producing a telethon on Monday, May 7, to benefit victims of recent flooding.
The April Nor’Easter Flood Relief Telethon will begin at 5 p.m. during WMUR’s early evening newscast. Gov. John Lynch and state lawmakers will be on hand to answer the phones. WMUR also will air a special live telethon half-hour from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The telethon will conclude at 11:35 p.m.
All money raised will go to the State of New Hampshire Disaster Relief Fund, a special fund that is dedicated to disaster assistance in New Hampshire.
Checks must be made to the State of New Hampshire, Disaster Relief, and mailed to: 25 Capital St., Room 121, Concord, N.H. 03301
WMUR produced two other flood relief telethons in partnership with the state following the floods of October 2005 and May 2006. More than $718,000 was raised from the two events.
