Warning issued on labor poster scam

The New Hampshire Department of Labor today is warning businesses about a scam involving the sale of labor law posters.

According to the agency, people posing as Labor Department representatives are soliciting businesses indicating the need to purchase up-to-date labor law posters at the risk of being fined for noncompliance. Labor Department officials said representatives of the agency always present identification upon entering a business.

The state does mandate certain postings, but the postings are available free of charge.

Businesses that have been approached about fraudulent poster sales have been asked to contact the Labor Department at 271-3176. – JEFF FEINGOLD
