CLAREMONT (AP) – Authorities say the death of a worker who was struck and killed Friday by a race car at the Twin State Speedway appears to have been an accident.
Authorities said Michael Bliss, 46, of Montpelier, Vt., died from injuries he suffered when he was hit by a car doing practice laps around 5:40 p.m. Bliss was a safety worker at the track and was struck in the area of turn two.
Officials said Bliss died at a hospital from severe head injuries.
Police are investigating the accident, but said criminal charges are not expected.
