Tech council seeks Product of Year nominations

The New Hampshire High Technology Council is accepting applications for its 2007 Product of the Year Award competition.

The award – to be presented in November — honors outstanding innovations by New Hampshire’s high-tech companies and is open to all companies in the Granite State.

Products submitted must have been released to the market or significantly updated within 12 months prior to the application deadline on Sept. 30, and will be judged on several criteria including innovation, performance, functionality, value and uniqueness.

Semifinalists will be asked to give a five-minute presentation to judges on Oct. 27. Five finalists will then be selected and will present their products to business, government and education leaders and event attendees at a gala on Nov. 13, as well as have their ideas showcased in an exhibit at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The Product of the Year Award winner will be determined by the judges and banquet attendees.

Last year’s winner was Peter Antoinette of Nanocomp Technologies in Concord for the firm’s novel process of creating and weaving high-tech fabrics made from carbon nanotubes.

Applications may be obtained at nhhtc.org or by call the NHHTC at 924-8324. — CINDY KIBBE
