MASON – The future of the Mason Historical Society will be discussed at its annual meeting Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at Town Hall.
So few people attended the annual meeting last year that the group decided to disband if interest did not grow. Several special meetings were held during the summer, including visits to Wolf Rock and the grave of the first white child in Mason, as well as round-table discussions on aspects of local history.
Some of those meetings were fairly well-attended.
Interested residents are asked to attend the annual meeting to determine whether the society will continue to function or disband. If the decision is made to disband, a number of other questions will have to be resolved, including disposition of the society’s artifacts.
