Seminar offers info for exporters

A seminar designed for New Hampshire businesspeople involved in exporting is planned for Thursday, Sept. 22, by the state International Trade Resource Center.Presented by the ITRC in cooperation with Evolutions in Business, the seminar will focus on “Export Controls and Licensing Under the EAR,” or Export Administration regulations and the federal Export Administration Act.The full-day seminar will help how to determine whether a license is needed, procedures of obtaining a license, as well as other crucial information on navigating and complying with the EAR regulations.Topics to be covered include: items and activities are subject to the Export Administration regulations; steps need to be taken to determine export licensing requirements for a product; how to navigate the Commerce Control List, or CCL; proper classification of products; when you can export or re-export without a license; export clearance procedures, enforcement and record-keeping; and new regulations and updates.The seminar will be presented by Jeanette Reed, vice president and CEO of Chelmsford, Mass.-based Evolutions in Business, who has 20 years of experience in advising, training and counseling defense, security and commercial corporations on export and import regulations.The seminar will be conducted at ITRC offices at 172 Pembroke Rd., Concord.Cost is $95 per person.
