AMHERST- The SAU 39 School Board recently appointed Susan Ward as school business administrator.
Ward, SAU 39’s former director of technology, replaces former Assistant Superintendent Michael Galan, who retired in June.
Ward has 30 years of experience with databases, statistical applications and the procedures necessary to obtain a high level of quality control for the SAU’s financial health, according to a written statement from the superintendent’s office.
Ward will oversee the day-to-day business operations of the SAU 39 school districts, including budget development, payroll, accounts payable, buildings and grounds, and food service.
Ward holds master’s degrees in computer science/applications and sociology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Cornell University.

New Hampshire has joined 22 other states in signing onto a lawsuit against Uber, arguing the rideshare company was “deceptive” in selling and billing for its subscription service, Uber One, according to a press release from Attorney General John Formella’s office.
