Summit at UNH Manchester will feature panelists from business and nonprofit organizations

The ReGen Valley Tech Hub is partnering with New Hampshire Housing and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce to address the state’s housing shortage, convening a regional summit May 12 at the University of New Hampshire Manchester, organizers announced April 15.

“Building Solutions for ReGen Valley Tech Hub: A Regional Housing Summit” will bring together leaders from government, business and community organizations to examine how limited housing supply is constraining workforce growth and economic development.

Panelists are expected from organizations including the University of New Hampshire, the state Department of Business and Economic Affairs, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the city of Manchester and the Business and Industry Association.

New Hampshire continues to face a significant housing gap. The median single-family home price reached $565,000 in June 2025, up 68% since 2020, while household incomes rose 33% over the same period, according to New Hampshire Housing.

The state needs an estimated 23,500 additional units today and 90,000 by 2040. Data from the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute indicates a household would have needed to earn more than $158,000 in 2025 to avoid being cost-burdened, while roughly 30% of households exceeded $150,000 in income.

“While the ReGen Valley Tech Hub and our consortium members are focused on breaking new ground in biomanufacturing and biofabrication, we are equally committed to building the foundation for a stronger, healthier workforce,” said Jennifer MacDonald, chief operating officer, ARMI, BioFabUSA, in a statement. “Without housing for the people driving this mission forward, our ability to grow the regional economy and deliver life-saving therapies simply cannot be realized.

The ReGen Valley Tech Hub, led by ARMI and comprising more than 80 organizations, aims to grow New Hampshire’s biofabrication sector. More information is available at ReGenValley.com and NHHousing.org.
