Outback, Carrabba’s chains sold

Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and other restaurant brands owned by OSI Restaurant Partners are being sold to a private investment group.

OSI stockholders met Tuesday and voted to accept a $3.2 billion offer from Bain Capital Partners LLC and investment funds affiliated with Catterton Management Company LLC. The deal is expected to close on June 19.

The buyout group increased its original offer of $40 per share in OSI Restaurant Partners Inc. to $41.15 per share. The three OSI founders, however, will receive $40 per share of their stock.

There are currently three Outback Steakhouse brand restaurants in New Hampshire, located in Newington, Bedford and Concord. A Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant in Bedford is the only other brand restaurant in New Hampshire owned by OSI Restaurant Partners Inc.

OSI officials could not be reached for comment and there is no word yet whether changes, if any, can be expected at the four locations.

OSI also owns the Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Roy’s, Lee Roy Selmon’s, Blue Coral Seafood and Spirits and Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants. – TRACIE STONE
